About the Role

MNC JOBS INFO is placing part-time Café Runners at table-service cafés and brunch spots. The café runner role is one of the most accessible entry-level positions in the food service industry — you bring completed orders from the bar and kitchen to the correct table, clear used dishes, and keep the floor moving efficiently. If you want to get into food service work immediately with zero experience and start earning tips within your first week, runner is the role to start with.

What You Will Do

  • Collect completed food and beverage items from the bar and kitchen pickup area and deliver them to the correct table without delay
  • Verify each item against the ticket or table number before leaving the pickup area to prevent misdirected orders
  • Check in with seated tables to deliver water refills, additional napkins, or extra condiments before they need to ask
  • Bus used dishes, cups, and silverware from completed tables efficiently, returning them to the dish station promptly
  • Reset cleared tables with clean settings so the floor team can seat the next guests without delay
  • Communicate with servers and shift lead about table readiness, spill situations, and guest needs on the floor
  • Sweep and spot-clean floor areas as needed during service — runners are often the first to notice a spill
  • Assist the counter team with grab-and-go packaging and delivery bag preparation during slow floor periods

What You Need

  • High energy and a fast walking pace — runners cover a lot of ground during a busy service
  • Physical ability to carry a full drink tray, multiple plates, or a bus bin throughout the shift
  • Ability to stay organized and attentive to multiple table numbers simultaneously
  • Team-first attitude — runners exist to make the servers and kitchen team's jobs easier
  • Reliable availability for at least 2 shifts per week including weekend days
  • Must be 16 or older — no prior experience required

Nice to Have

  • Any prior restaurant, café, or busser experience
  • Ability to carry a round serving tray confidently
  • Food handler card or willingness to obtain one within 30 days

What We Offer

  • Pay of $13 – $14 per hour plus tip pool participation — runners share in all table tips at the end of each shift
  • Immediate start — runner positions have the shortest onboarding of any café role
  • Free drinks and discounted food during your shift
  • Flexible part-time scheduling — mornings, afternoons, and weekends available
  • Direct pathway to server and barista roles for runners who demonstrate reliability and initiative
  • Paid sick leave per applicable law

Runner is the fastest path into a food service career. You start immediately, you learn the floor from the ground up, and you are in the tip pool from your very first shift. Apply through MNC JOBS INFO today.
