Cardiovascular Technologist - High Paying Healthcare Without a Degree
Other Jobs To Apply (June 26, 2026):
No other job posts for this day.
About the Role
The Elite Job is placing certified Cardiovascular Technologists (CVTs) with hospitals, cardiac catheterization labs, and electrophysiology programs across the United States. Cardiovascular technology is a high-paying healthcare career that is fully accessible without a four-year college degree. Credentialed CVTs earn $32 – $48 per hour, and the BLS reports median annual wages of $69,300 with strong growth in demand as the US population ages and cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death. An associate degree in cardiovascular technology and RCIS or RCES credential are your professional qualifications here — not a bachelor's degree.
What You Will Do
Assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization, coronary angiography, and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures in the cardiac cath lab
Operate hemodynamic monitoring equipment to record and display real-time pressure waveforms, oxygen saturation, and cardiac output measurements during invasive procedures
Scrub and circulate during cardiac catheterization procedures — preparing sterile fields, managing contrast and equipment, and documenting procedure data
Perform non-invasive cardiovascular testing including resting and exercise electrocardiography (ECG), Holter monitor application and scanning, and event monitor setup
Assist electrophysiologists during EP studies, radiofrequency ablations, and pacemaker and ICD implantation procedures
Operate intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), fractional flow reserve (FFR), and optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging systems during coronary interventions
Perform bedside ECGs, 12-lead interpretation support, and telemetry monitoring for inpatient cardiology units as assigned
Maintain accurate procedure documentation, cath lab logs, and radiation dose records per Joint Commission and ACC accreditation requirements
What You Need
RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist) credential from CCI
Current BLS and ACLS certification
Clinical experience in a cardiac catheterization or electrophysiology laboratory
Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, coronary artery disease, hemodynamics, and cardiac electrophysiology
Radiation safety knowledge and compliance with fluoroscopy dose management guidelines in the cath lab
Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity procedural environment with critically ill cardiac patients
Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology — no four-year college degree required for this position
Nice to Have
RCIS and RCES dual credential — technologists credentialed in both invasive and EP earn the highest compensation
Experience with structural heart procedures including TAVR, Watchman, MitraClip, or ASD/PFO closure
Rotational cath lab and EP lab experience at a high-volume cardiac program
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential for hybrid cardiovascular roles
What We Offer
Competitive pay of $32 – $48 per hour based on CCI credentials, lab specialty, and procedure volume
Call pay and on-call differential for after-hours cardiac intervention coverage
Full medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time CVTs
401(k) with employer match
Paid vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays
Annual CME allowance and CCI credential renewal support
Advancement into Cath Lab Lead, EP Lab Supervisor, and Cardiovascular Services Manager roles
Cardiovascular Technologists work at the front line of life-saving cardiac care, and the skills required to work safely in a cardiac cath lab or EP lab are built through clinical training and credentialing — not through earning a four-year university degree. At The Elite Job, we connect RCIS and RCES-credentialed CVTs with high-volume cardiac programs that compensate them at the top of the market. Apply today and put your cath lab skills to work where they matter most.
The Elite Job is an equal opportunity employer. We place credentialed cardiovascular technologists in invasive and electrophysiology cardiology settings across the United States.
