Job Responsible

  • Regulatory Compliance. Ensure all site activities comply with the Environmental Quality Act 1974 and other relevant environmental regulations. Liaise with the Department of Environment (DOE) and local authorities for environmental submissions and inspections. Manage and submit documentation, including Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Environmental Management Plan (EMP), and Environmental Monitoring Report (EMR).

  • Environmental Monitoring. Conduct regular environmental inspections on site (e.g., air, water, noise, erosion/sediment control). Oversee monitoring contractors and validate sampling and laboratory analysis results. Identify and follow up on non-compliance issues and recommend corrective/preventive actions.

  • Waste and Pollution Management. Ensure proper handling, labeling, storage, and disposal of scheduled and hazardous waste according to CePSWaM standards. Maintain an updated inventory of scheduled waste and submit the SW manifest to DOE.

  • Erosion and Sediment Control. Monitor and inspect erosion and sediment control measures in accordance with CISEC standards. Assist in the development and implementation of Erosion and Sediment Control Plans (ESCP). Prevent surface runoff and minimize sedimentation impacts during construction activities.

  • Reporting & Documentation. Prepare and submit monthly environmental reports to project management and relevant authorities. Maintain environmental records, audit reports, waste logs, and monitoring data.

  • Training & Awareness. Conduct environmental awareness training for staff and subcontractors. Promote sustainable practices and compliance through site engagement and toolbox talks.

  • Emergency Response. Assist in environmental incident investigations and spill response. Maintain environmental emergency response procedures and kits.

Job Requirement
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.

  • CePSWaM (Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management) – Mandatory.

  • CISEC (Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control) – Mandatory.

  • Minimum 2–5 years relevant experience in the construction or infrastructure sector.

  • Familiarity with Malaysian environmental laws, DOE procedures, and ISO 14001 EMS is an advantage.

  • Excellent report writing, auditing, and communication skills.

  • Able to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
