Looking for Filipino (Philippines-based) candidates

Job Role: Finance & Bookkeeping Coordinator

Compensation range: $1,800 - $2,400 AUD/month

Engagement type: Independent Contractor

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are:

At Hunt St, we help Australian companies directly hire top 5% remote talent in the Philippines. You will be hired directly by the client, typically as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote, so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is:

Our client is an established Australian dental practice focused on delivering high-quality patient care and clinical excellence. The business operates with structured internal systems and values accuracy, reliability, and strong financial oversight to support day-to-day operations.

They are looking for a detail-oriented Finance & Bookkeeping Coordinator who can support and coordinate their internal finance processes while working closely with their accountant. Although core bookkeeping tasks may only require part-time hours, this role will take on broader finance coordination and reconciliation responsibilities to support the full-time engagement.

About the Role

This is a finance support and coordination role designed to strengthen the practice’s internal bookkeeping and reconciliation workflows.

While an external accountant manages higher-level accounting and compliance, you will take ownership of day-to-day financial coordination, reconciliations, and record organisation. The goal is to ensure clean, accurate, and up-to-date financial data that supports reporting and operational decisions.

The ideal candidate is highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling routine financial tasks with consistency and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly practice reconciliation
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations
  • Download and reconcile merchant fees and remittances
  • Monitor and reconcile petty cash transactions
  • Follow up on delayed, missing, or unmatched payments
  • Maintain organised financial records and documentation
  • Assist with preparation of financial reports for the accountant
  • Coordinate with the external accountant to ensure smooth financial workflow
  • Support internal finance tracking and improve reconciliation processes where needed
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data across systems

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping, finance support, or accounting coordination
  • Strong experience in bank and account reconciliations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage routine financial tasks independently
  • Experience working with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or similar platforms)
  • Strong organisational and documentation skills
  • Clear written and verbal English communication
  • Ability to follow structured processes and meet deadlines
  • Prior experience supporting Australian businesses is highly preferred

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
  • Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
