Flight Test Operator

Description:

• Assist with test, system checkouts, flight operations, and provide feedback to Test Engineering on Altius aircraft.
• Build, program, and maintain autonomous aircraft for flight.
• Work with Test Engineers on operational tasks that support engineering work, including flight execution, material preparation, and demonstrations.
• Assist with product installations at test sites as needed.
• Support the Site Manager and onsite team with maintenance tasks, including office supplies, cleaning, inventory management, and equipment maintenance.
• Travel between test sites based on testing requirements and team needs.
• Assist program leads with planning, coordination, and execution of flight test operations.

Requirements:

• Experience as an RC, RPIC, or pilot-operator on fixed-wing commercial and/or defense Group 2 aircraft.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Part 107 certificate and complete FAA Part 61 ground school as required.
• Ability to travel as needed, including approximately 60% of the time.
• Familiarity with flight controllers and autopilot logic.
• Strong knowledge of National Airspace regulations and operating restrictions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to own a variety of tasks in an autonomous environment.
• Ability to work extended hours as required.
• Strong customer service and organizational collaboration mindset.
• Small UAS maintenance experience.
• Willingness to travel approximately 60% of the time.
• Experience with LiPO/LiON battery handling is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, electrical, software, or mechanical engineering is preferred.
• Experience with developmental and operational test is preferred.
