Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Full-Time Dispatcher specializing in Mortuary Transport to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will coordinate the timely and respectful transfer of deceased individuals, ensuring all logistics are handled with compassion, efficiency, and precision. Your proactive communication skills and logistical expertise will be essential in managing transportation requests, scheduling, and fleet operations to support our mission of providing dignified mortuary services. Duties

  • Answer incoming calls and gather complete first-call information
  • Enter and update jobs in dispatch software
  • Assign drivers based on location, availability, call priority, and response time
  • Communicate clearly with drivers, facilities, funeral homes, and management
  • Monitor active calls from dispatch through completion
  • Prioritize urgent calls, hospital holds, donor cases, and family-present removals
  • Maintain accurate notes, call details, and chain-of-custody documentation
  • Follow company procedures for removals, releases, inventory, and driver communication
  • Identify issues and escalate concerns to management when needed
  • Support daily operations and help maintain smooth workflow

Experience

  • Dispatch, logistics, funeral home, transportation, or customer service experience preferred
  • Strong phone and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and make decisions quickly
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Professional, calm, and respectful demeanor
  • Comfortable working around death-care related information
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to follow procedures

Schedule
Full-time position. Schedule may include weekdays, weekends, holidays, and/or on-call rotation based on business needs.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
