Responsibilities:

  • Proactively and effectively represent the company's interests by communicating its position to government agencies, ministries, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders. Participate in and contribute to meetings, forums, and public events aimed at fostering positive relationships with local municipalities and government entities.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of the company's current communication and relationship-building strategies with government bodies. Develop tailored action plans to strengthen engagement, address concerns, and mitigate legal or regulatory risks.
  • Assist in researching existing laws, regulations, and compliance obligations relevant to the company's operations. Provide timely insights and recommendations regarding proposed legislative changes or new regulations that could impact the business.
  • Continuously monitor legislative developments, regulatory activities, and policy changes at the federal, state, and local levels. Analyze their potential impact on the company's legal standing, operations, and strategic objectives.
  • Develop and implement lobbying strategies to influence legislation and regulations in favor of the company's interests. Engage with policymakers, legislators, and industry groups to advocate for policy adjustments and legislative amendments.
  • Offer legal guidance on public law, government relations, and compliance issues to various departments within the organization, ensuring alignment with legal standards and best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with government officials, industry associations, and other relevant entities to facilitate effective communication and advocacy efforts.
  • Prepare detailed reports, position papers, and official correspondence related to government relations activities, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and compliance with legal standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law / LLB or equivalent legal qualification; admission to practice as a lawyer is preferred.
  • Experience in Government Relations, Public Law, Public Policy, or Lobbying.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proven track record of navigating complex legislative environments and establishing influential connections across all levels of government and industry stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience in negotiation, advocacy, and strategic influence at various levels of government and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills, capable of confidently representing the company in public forums and official meetings.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily onsite at our office in Kuala Lumpur, working from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

  • Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications, with potential increases contingent upon personal performance and contributions to the company's objectives.
