About the Role
A well-loved local café group is looking for Part-Time Morning Shift Staff who are early risers and take pride in starting the day right. Morning café shifts (typically 6 AM – 12 PM) are the busiest and most tipped shifts of the day — and the most important. If you are someone who shows up early, works fast, and genuinely enjoys the morning rush energy, we want to hear from you. Morning staff play a critical role in opening the café, setting up for the day, and delivering hundreds of drinks with speed and accuracy before the afternoon team arrives.
What You Will Do
Arrive before open to complete setup tasks — flushing equipment, restocking supplies, turning on displays, and brewing the first pots
Work the espresso bar and counter simultaneously during peak morning hours (7 – 10 AM), managing drink flow and customer interaction at the same time
Prepare drip coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and cold brews to order with speed and consistency
Handle register transactions, mobile order pickups, and drive-thru service if applicable
Communicate stock and preparation needs to the opening manager before the afternoon team arrives
Wipe down equipment, clean the bar, and run the opening cleaning checklist before 8 AM and again at turnover
Handle high-volume order queues without losing accuracy — morning regulars know exactly what they want and they notice when it is wrong
Leave the café station fully stocked, clean, and organized for the afternoon team before clocking out
What You Need
Reliable early availability — morning shifts start between 5:30 and 6:30 AM on scheduled days
High energy in the morning — the morning rush rewards people who are naturally alert and ready to move
Café or food service experience preferred for morning roles due to the pace and independence required
Physical ability to work fast for 4 – 6 hours, standing and moving throughout the entire shift
Strong attention to order accuracy during high-volume service periods
Must be 16 or older
Nice to Have
Opening shift experience at a coffee shop, bakery, or breakfast restaurant
Barista skills including espresso preparation and milk steaming
ServSafe certification or food handler card
