About the position

The position involves assisting in the oversight of the daily operations and work activities of the Customer Service team. The role includes acting in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the assigned supervisor. The work schedule is full-time, with hours from Monday to Thursday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday from 7:30 am to 4 pm, including two late shifts each week from 9 am to 5:30 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the work of other personnel by training, allocating, and monitoring work.
  • Performs work of a similar nature to the team members.
  • Assists with annual performance evaluations and the interview process.
  • May perform audits on other staff members' work.
  • Reviews, reconciles, and/or corrects a variety of reports.
  • May interact with collection agencies and various governmental agencies.
  • Assists staff with follow-up and/or resolution of accounts.
  • Acts as a resource for business office staff, Access ED Staff, and PAS IT staff.
  • Trains new hires and conducts training for existing employees as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains communication with ancillary departments/entities to facilitate problem-solving and continuous process improvement.
  • Assists in developing, establishing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Maintains appropriate records, reports, and files as required.
  • Collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes.
  • Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers, fosters teamwork, and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years of relevant experience required.
  • Certified Patient Accounts Technician within 1 year required.
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate within 1 year required.
  • Certified Healthcare Access Manager within 1 year required.
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Executive within 1 year required.
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Professional within 1 year required.
  • Certified Revenue Integrity Professional within 1 year required.
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist within 1 year required.
  • Certified Compliance Technician - AAHAM within 1 year required.
  • Certified Healthcare Financial Professional within 1 year required.
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative within 1 year required.
  • Cross-trained in the department or training as a PAS II upon hire required.
